Toonumbar Forest Drive and Cox's Road will be closed until approximately 28 August due to wet conditions and roadworks.
Sherwood lookout and Murray Scrub lookout remain closed until the roads are re-opened. Iron Pot Creek campground and Murray Scrub walking track are only accessible via Murray Scrub Road from Afterlee.
Both roads are not safely trafficable in wet conditions and are therefore closed during forecast weather events and damage during the winter period.

Due to essential bridge replacement works within the Park to improve emergency service access.
Access to Cutters Camp and Mebbin National Park will be via Mebbin Forest Road off Byrrill Creek Road only.
Please also note that Byrrill Creek Road from Tyalgum is open all hours however Byrrill Creek Road via Kyogle Road is also closed for major Council flood restoration works between 9am and 3pm on weekdays. Please check Tweed Shire Council website for updates.

Nightcap Range Road is closed to traffic in both directions due to a major landslip associated with the 2022 flood event. The closure affects the section of Nightcap Range Road between the Rummery Road intersection and Telephone Road trailer parking area.
Access to Minyon Falls and Rummery Park is via Minyon Falls Road only.

Some parts of this park are closed from Friday 19 June to Friday 9 October 2026 trails are being upgraded. The closed areas are:

These essential works are implemented by NPWS under the Fire Access Fire Trails (FAFT) program.
All works are to ensure safety of emergency response workers, to protect the community, ensure fire trails are compliant with RFS standards and to better manage risks to park environmental and cultural values.
Plant and machinery will be on these trails until 9 October 2026 – weather dependant.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program in Bundjalung National Park from 24th September 2025 to 24th September 2026.
The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes. Its designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Safety alerts: Murray Scrub Road - changed conditions
Recent road maintenance works have been completed on Muray Scrub Road.
Unexpected rainfall immediately following the works has meant the new gravel surface has not yet had an opportunity to fully consolidate and may be slippery when wet.
The road remains open; however, motorists are advised to:
- Drive to conditions and reduce speed.
- Take extra care on the new gravel surface, particularly on corners and steeper sections.
- Follow all road signage.
Some minor finishing works will also be completed once the road surface has dried sufficiently. Traffic may be affected for short periods while these works are undertaken.

Other incidents: Yabbra NP - Road conditions
South Yabbra Road runs South from Clarence Way providing visitors with an 18km rainforest road experience to the heart of Yabbra National Park. South Yabbra Road is generally suitable for AWD or 4WD vehicles in dry weather conditions and is a no through road (visitors need to return along South Yabbra Road). From the end of South Yabbra Road visitors can walk or cycle along the adjacent management trails to explore further. Joes Box Road, Yabbra Plains Road, Pocupar Road, Bald Knob Road and South Haystack Feeder are management trails where public vehicle access is not permitted. These management trails are periodically closed to visitors for road maintenance or pest management operations with closures notified on NPWS website.
Sheas Hut Road provides public vehicle access for a further 10 km however is in poor condition and not promoted.
There are frequent tree falls along these roads and visitors are advised to avoid during wet weather events or strong winds. For further information contact the Kyogle NPWS office on (02) 6632 0000.

Some areas of this park are closed until further notice due to the demolition of a bridge from a past flooding event.
The closed areas include the 4WD access to North Washpool, an area also known as Washpool rest area, entering from Baryulgil onto Collum Collum Road. The bridge is washed away at the junction of Washpool Creek and Collum Collum Road.

- Washpool National Park’s 2WD entrance off Gwydir Highway onto Coachwood Drive and Washpool Forest Way is open.
- Bellbird campground, Coombadjha campground and the Granites lookout and picnic areas are accessible.
