Safety alerts: Bundjalung National Park Hazard Reductions
NPWS will be conducting hazard reduction within Bundjalung National Park from Friday 7 August to 5pm Monday10 August 2026. Smoke may be visible within the park and surrounding areas.
Penalties apply for non-compliance. These burns are called NPWS Macca and Wazza Hazard Reductions. For more information, contact Alstonville NPWS office npws.richmondriver@environment.nsw.gov.au or visit the Rural Fire Service website.

Bundjalung National Park visitors may experience loud aircraft noise until further notice. RAAF training operations from the nearby Evans Head Air Weapons Range may be heard and seen from the Black Rocks campground and Jerusalem Creek paddle route and walking track.
Please note:
- The RAAF schedule of planned air operations is available on the Defence Aircraft Noise webpage.
- RAAF schedules for the Air Weapons Range in Bundjalung National Park can change at short notice due to weather or other operational considerations.
- Aircraft may not utilise the range every day of scheduled operations.

Safety alerts: Change to road conditions
The road surface on the council section of The Gap Road into Bundjalung National Park is damaged with pot-holes. Visitors are advised to drive to road conditions, take care and drive safely. Mibanbah-Black Rocks Campground remains open.
