Closed areas: Misty Mountain Road closed from Kings Hwy
Misty Mountain Road will be closed to all traffic from the Kings Highway access junction from the 27th July 2026 for an estimated 5 weeks to allow for bridge replacement and essential roadworks. During this time there will be no access to the bottom car park starting point to the Corn Trail walking track.
Road closure signage and barriers will be in place. For your safety please do not attempt to enter the area, and follow directions of NPWS staff and contractors completing these works. Penalties apply for non-compliance

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program from Tuesday 21 July 2026 to Monday 21 December 2026. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes.
The program will take place in:
- Comerong Island Nature Reserve
- Conjola National Park
- Meroo National Park
- Murramarang National Park
- Narrawallee Creek Nature Reserve
- Seven Mile Beach National Park.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially nesting threatened shorebird species.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Penance Grove Boardwalk & Walking Track Closed Permanently
Due to extensive damage to infrastructure and trees during the 2019/2020 fires, the Penance Grove Boardwalk and Walking Track have been permanently closed. Any reference to these areas on third party websites is old content and now incorrect. Due to the extent of damage and complete loss of all infrastructure, there are currently no plans to reinstate the area.
The Corn Trail walking track, Dasyurus picnic area and Mongarlowe River picnic area all remain available.
