Getting there and parking

Blue Mountains Heritage Centre is in the Blackheath area of Blue Mountains National Park.

To get there from Sydney:

  • Turn right off Great Western Highway, at Blackheath traffic lights, into Govetts Leap Road.
  • Drive for 2.5km. After passing through the park entrance, take the second exit from the roundabout.

Parking

There is parking in an asphalt carpark at Blue Mountains Heritage Centre, including 2 accessible parking spaces. Bus parking is available.

For larger groups, please discuss parking arrangements with the Heritage Centre when you book the theatrette.

By public transport

The visitor centre is around 3km from Blackheath train station. It's a 30min walk via Govetts Leap Road, or take bus 698 to the visitor centre. Visit transportnsw.info for timetables.

Disability access level - easy

Easy. The VR experience is delivered in the theatrette within the Blue Mountains Heritage Centre. The centre is fully accessible with the following facilities:

  • Step-free access from the carpark to the main entrance of the building along a concrete pathway and ramp.
  • Wide automatic sliding doors at the main entrance.
  • Flat floors and step-free access to the counter, displays and theatrette.
  • A bench seat outside for resting.
  • Toilets that have been specially designed for wheelchair access.
  • 2 accessible parking spaces in the carpark.
