Join Snowy Wilderness on a guided horse riding trek through the Khancoban area in Kosciuszko National Park. You'll ride through remote mountain ranges, enjoy hearty fireside meals and sleep in cosy bush campsites on this fully catered adventure.
Whether it’s an overnight stint or a 6-day trek through the high country, you’ll get to experience rarely explored parts of the Snowy Mountains. Be captivated by the legend of the Man from Snowy River as you trek along scenic spurs and into dense gullies brimming with wildlife. Look out for native animals like red-necked wallabies, eastern grey kangaroos, echidnas and wombats.
You’ll practice traditional stockman skills so you can catch, saddle and ride your steed. Horses are matched to your riding ability, and experienced guides will help you build confidence in the saddle along the way. Whatever trek length you choose, you should be comfortable controlling a horse at a walk.
If anyone isn’t ready to take the reins, there’s an option to ride select multi-day treks in a charming stockman’s wagon. It’s a great option for groups of varied ages and riding abilities to share the adventure.

The Khancoban area is open all year, but access along the Khancoban to Cabramurra Road is closed in winter (June to October long weekends).

Park entry fees apply on Alpine Way
Winter (June to October long weekends): $29 per vehicle per day (24hrs from purchase); motorcycles $12; bus passengers $11.45 per adult, $3.60 per child per day. Find out more about the winter entry surcharge.
Rest of Year: $17 per vehicle per day (24hrs); motorcycles $7; bus passengers $6.60 per adult, $2.20 per child per day.
