Join a Discovery ranger for a hands-on nature adventure in Kosciuszko National Park’s high country. Kids can explore the bush, following a trail to a local creek. There’s plenty of time to stop and investigate wildlife, listen to the sounds of the high country and discuss the little details of nature.
At the water, kids will become stream scientists. They’ll catch and identify aquatic bugs, then learn how these tiny creatures reveal the health of our rivers. They’ll dive into how these bugs support rare and endangered animals in this ecosystem like platypi, native water rats and freshwater fish.
Through games and exploration, kids will understand how waterways work, why they matter and how we can help to protect them. Our bush detectives program is updated every year with fresh activities and new discoveries.
