Getting there and parking

Pilliga Forest:

This is a diverse area, featuring a complex network of roads. It’s accessible via the Newell Highway. It’s a good idea to drop into the Pilliga Forest Discovery Centre before heading out into the park.

Goonoo National Park:

From Dubbo:

  • Head north on the Newell Highway then exit right onto Burraway Street. This turns into Ulomongo Street and Mogriguy Road.
  • Continue for about 13km then turn right onto Dubbo Street and Mogriguy Forest Road.

From Mendooran:

Take Mendooran Road through Goonoo State Conservation Area, then turn onto Mogriguy Forest Road.

Goobang National Park:

From Dubbo:

  • Travel 106km south on the Newell Highway towards Parkes
  • 10km south of Alectown, turn left onto Coobang Road
  • Travel 7km, then at the T-intersection, turn left onto Renshaw McGirr Way
  • Travel 20km east on Renshaw McGirr Way
  • The entrance to the park is on the left, Spring Creek fire trail

From Parkes:

  • Travel 35km north on Renshaw McGirr Way
  • The entrance to the park is on the left, Spring Creek firetrail.
