The Devines Hill section of the Old Great North Road is closed from Monday 24 November to Friday 1 May 2026 while conservation works are being undertaken.

The Devines Hill section is from Settlers Road to Shepherds Gully Road. Alternate entry points to the Old Great North Road via Finchs Line and Shepherds Gully Road remain open.

Last reviewed: Tue 7 Apr 2026, 3.23pm NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial baiting program in Manobalai Nature Reserve (NR), Parr State Conservation Area (SCA), Wollemi FR, Dharug NP and Yengo NP from Monday 20th April – Sunday 3rd May 2026. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. St The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock. Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location.
