Bindarray Picnic Area is closed to the public until late September due to construction works.
There will be no access possible via vehicle or pedestrians during this time.
The closed area is from the gate at the northern end of Jersery Bull Rd (near junction with Pine Rd) and south to Bindarray Picnic Area.
There is no change to any access to Pine Rd.
Construction of a new pedestrian suspension bridge across the Urumbilium River near Bindarray Picnic Area will provide improved access to the site once works are completed.
This project is part of the Dorrigo Escarpment Great Walk, which will provide a new public walking track from Dorrigo Rainforest Centre to Bindarray Picnic Area.

Lyrebird Link track closed. Temporary access to walks via a steep detour.
The Lyrebird Link ramp to the walking tracks from the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre has been closed to address safety risks. Temporary access to the walks via a short steep detour (18 degrees or 1 in 3) is unsuitable for mobility impaired visitors and prams. Please ask at the information counter at The Glade for advice and directions.

The Dorrigo Rainforest Centre will be temporarily closed from Monday 10 August to Thursday 20 August 2026.
The centre will reopen in a new location at 100 Lyrebird Lane on 21 August 2026. You can access the new centre from the existing Dorrigo Rainforest Centre entry off Dome Road. It is approximately 1km down Lyrebird Lane at The Glade picnic area.

There is an additional access to the Wonga walk. This access track is a 2-minute walk from the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre, along Lyrebird Lane.
The temporary access track is surfaced with non-slip rubber mat. Please note that the track is steep and uneven in sections, making it unsuitable for prams, wheelchairs and other mobility aids.

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 Fox Baiting Program at Bongil Bongil NP and Moonee Beach Nature Reserve
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program from 6 August 2026 to 28 February 2027. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes.
The program will take place in Moonee Beach Nature Reserve and Bongil Bongil National Park.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Moonee Creek south bridge (Caravan park to Green Bluff access) closed
Moonee Creek (Sugar Mill Creek) Bridge is closed as the bridge was removed due to damage. A new bridge will be built in its place, please see below link for details.
The bridge crossing provides access:
- to Reflections Holiday Park
- from Moonee south to Coffs Coast Regional Park, Green Bluff and Sapphire North.
If you are planning to do the Solitary Islands coastal walk please reroute:
- west along Moonee Beach Road to the south-west corner of the shopping centre
- south along new concrete path on eastern side of Pacific Highway
- south onto southern end of North Solitary Drive
- east onto North Sapphire Road to the beach access at Beachstone Cafe.
Green Bluff is still accessible from the south via Rutile trail, off Ivory Circuit in North Sapphire.
